Winterizing your outboard engine is essential to ensure it remains in optimal condition during the cold months. Start by thoroughly flushing the engine with fresh water to remove any salt or debris. Once cleaned, change the engine oil and replace the oil filter to eliminate impurities. Next, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes to distribute the mixture. Remove and clean the spark plugs, inspecting them for wear, and replace if necessary. To prevent corrosion, spray fogging oil into the engine's intake while it runs. Finally, disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the engine with a protective tarp to shield it from dust and moisture.
